There are six dimensions that can be super helpful to keep in mind on your path to healing trauma and remaining in a healthy headspace. Physical- Exercise, medical care, healthy sex life, self-care. Taking care of yourself can be one of the most empowering things you can do! 2. Psychological- journaling, counseling, peer support, therapy, self-reflection practice asking for help, and receiving help when you need to. 3. Emotional- Affirmations, self-love, self-compassion, self-forgiveness 4. Spiritual- Find a spiritual community, meditate, sing, dance, yoga 5. Personal- Discover what you truly want out of life and how to get it. Set goals for yourself, make memories with your family and friends. 6. Professional- SET BOUNDARIES, leave work at work, Take mental health days, vacations and personal days, LEARN TO SAY NO!!

Alright Phoenix who wants to play a game? There is always room for improving ourselves and why not have fun doing it? Heres how it works. Starting This Monday. Music Mondays- Music is one of the many wonderful ways that you can reduce your stress. On Monday post your playlist of your music therapy. Its a great way for all of us to explore music and get to know one another. Talk it out Tuesday- Pick one thing that has been stressing you out and lets all talk it out together here. Talking to other people can absolutely help you not only to feel better but to possibly find a solution. Write it down Wednesday- I want you to choose something that you have been struggling with, take out a piece of paper and journal through your thoughts. When your done you can either keep it or tear it up and throw it away. There is tremendous value in journaling. Even if you're skeptical, give it try. Thankful Thursday- Give me five things that you are thankful for. Tell me what those person, places or things have meant to you. Fitness Friday- Choose one or multiple activities that get your heart rate going and release those feel good hormones!!! Social Saturday- Many of us get so busy with work that we forget how important human interaction outside of your immediate family is. Get out and do something with someone. The house work will be there when you're done, trust me. Self care Sunday- Finally wrap the week up with some self care. Get a mani/pedi, maybe a massage ....if you need ideas hit me up and I will offer some suggestions. We expect to see some pics and some feedback on how each day went.

Some signs of distress are extremely obvious but some are not so obvious especially if you are living in denial. So let's go over some of the signs. This comprised list comes from the University of South Wales through their Counseling and psychological services program. The physical signs of distress can include perspiring excessively, having trouble breathing, obvious intense pain and extreme fatigue or continual illness; complaints of ongoing sleep problems. The emotional signs of distress can include sustained low mood for most of the day, being frequently tearful, experiencing repeated high levels of anxiety or panic attacks, and irritability. The behavioral signs of distress are increased procrastination and avoidance of tasks, withdrawal from friends and family, poor self-care/hygiene, increased compulsive behavior, and harm, whether to self or violent acts towards others. Like I mentioned some are obvious but others I feel are not so obvious. I felt like it was worth taking a look over it and seeing if you noticed yourself falling into any of these categories as I found myself falling into them.

Hello Members! One of the best ways to combat the stress from our jobs and personal lives is to take care of ourselves. Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup. If we aren't remembering to put ourselves first, then chances are we are running on empty. So, let's discuss what you guys do to recharge your battery. What is your self-care routine?

Just a short while ago a member of the Facebook group (Amber Naomi) posted this question and I feel it is worthy of a forum discussion. So what does it look like? Share your thoughts on this.
